Yes, We Do Care!!

Yes, We Do Care!!

Today I am going to talk about social security services of India. India is upholding the right to social security. They do care about old people, for them the government has pension scheme. When we think about disabled people there is disability benefits for them. One more thing, there is some benefits for a person, who is traveling or being with a disabled person (of course there are some conditions applied). It proves they do care about disabled people. Sometimes people can not work due to sickness or maternity so for them there is sickness or maternity coverage. There are many more coverages like coverage for dependents, coverage for injury during work and many more.
I know, you will definitely think oh,my god so nice India is a perfect country!!! But the irony is even though we have all policies and schemes hardly any people get that benefit. There are so many reasons for that: the first and most important reason is most of the people they are not aware of these benefits and government does not care about that. The government just lets things go The second reason is some people apply for that policies but they didn't get approved. The reason is all documentation is so complicated they neither understand the confusing official language nor they able to complete that documentation. Third and very important reason sometimes some people make the fake documents and get these benefits actually they misuse the benefits and real people who really need all these things they just live as it is.

I feel really sad for that, so even though technically India is upholding the human right is really not. In my opinion for better world rather than making piles of documentation or just showing "Yes, We do care", regarding social security benefits and policies we have to make sure that the people who really suffering are getting those benefits or not. We have to aware the people regarding that to make difference.

  1. This is such an eye-opening and amazing post, Madhura. It is one thing to 'offer' benefits but it is another thing to inform people about them and what is available to them.
India is technically being responsible and upholding the very important right of Social Services, but are they really upholding this right if they fail to inform their citizens that these services are available to them?
And all governments tend to make things so complicated with tons of paperwork that they get so overwhelmed and give up.
There should be two languages in government: one of the lawmakers and one for the people.

  2. Yes, Certainly..There must be two languages there. One for the lawmakers and one for the people. Even thought some people invest their money and time to get those benefits but because of confusing and complicated system they just give up.
